It Started with Wrinkles

I like people watching… Trying to see what makes them unique… Looking for just that little bit of God in all of us… I figure it this way… We are all part of Christ’s body but everyone is different but we’re talking gazillions of people to form each part and ultimately you can only have one left eye! Sort of just like the sand on the shore, no too are alike…

I was in a waiting room and I’m looking around I noticed people with wrinkles and different types… Some around their eyes, some with scowl marks, worry lines, blank faces, but one sweet lady I saw had a different type of face…her face seemed like scrunchies, like how you scrunch a piece of paper into a ball and then tried flatten it again..  those sort of squarish wrinkles…

To me her wrinkles show a life well lived. She looked gentle and kind, but also the type of person who is already for the next adventure. Her lines showed a happy life… Too many of the squishes lined up in a smile to think otherwise.

She would be a Mrs. Doubtface in person. Wise, caring, lovable, has the best hugs and softest lap to snuggle on and best voices when reading a book…

That’s a lot put into a face!

But that type of Grandma is who I aim to be… On the days that are tougher, just looking at a picture of a grandchild is the motivation I need…

Yes, days with mental health can vary… My body isn’t the same… Hormones change, what I eat changes… Interaction with people can change my day… but just not negative!! These can also make my day so much better…

(I know there are days that getting out of bed is like climbing a mountain so just pray… God help me)

Guaranteed way of a better day for me… spend time reading my Bible, pray or have some favorite verses ready to go… Lots of good choices…

The Best Way – Its God after all, He’s the one who made the our faces… It’s up to us to choose what wrinkles we have…

2 Cor 10:3-5 Paul clearly points out that we have a spiritual war…

Phil 4:4-8 the way to God’s peace and other things to think of…
