Dog Like Faith

In doing my devotions I was challenged when it also reminded us in

Matthew 18:3 And he said: Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

As I was contemplating this I was moving around the house and where I go my dog Ivory goes. She is so eager to see where I’m going but usually her head is bopping the back of my legs.

If I go into the kitchen she’s excited as anything that falls to the floor is rightflly hers. And when I open up a certain drawer she gets excited with anticipation if she hears a certain noise she immediately sits down hoping for a treat.

Her behavior is very simple she trust me 100%. If she doesn’t get the treat she still loves me. If I move to another room she’s bopping the back of my legs again.

When I do give her a treat she goes absolutely bonkers. You would think she had just won the Stanley Cup.

She is faithful, she always wants to please me, she’s ready to go for a walk or play. We have our snuggle times as well.

She is devoted. She may be confused at times but she has placed her trust and hope in me.

And that is how I need to be with God. I need to have that type of faith and hope with Him. Yes, I’m sure many times I’ll be confused.

One thing I have learned though is that God has His own time table. I may think in hear a drawer opening and eagerly sit in anticipation only to see that God is moving in a different direction.

Confused or not, I want to keep as close as possible and bopping into His calves.

Lamentations 3:25-27 The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline…
